About
An orchestra with a season of its own
Founded in Summer 2024 in Brentwood, Titan Sinfonia gathers talented young musicians to make music that inspires performers and audiences alike.
Titan Sinfonia runs two concert courses each year - one in summer, one in winter. Each packs a few days of rehearsals, collaboration and music-making into the run-up to a single live concert at St Thomas of Canterbury Church in Brentwood.
We began in Summer 2024 from a simple idea: bring together talented young musicians and create music that inspires both the people playing it and the people listening. Under conductor and artistic director Atharv Gupta, the orchestra takes on repertoire spanning the impressionist colour of Debussy through to the late-romantic sweep of Rachmaninoff.
Our players are young musicians aged 16 to 22, drawn from London's Junior Conservatoires and the UK's leading music colleges, alongside principal string players from the Essex Youth Orchestra and former members of the National Youth Orchestra. It makes for an ensemble that plays well beyond its years.
What sets us apart is our own players. Alongside the classical canon we commission and premiere original compositions written by young composers - a rare platform for emerging talent to hear their music performed by a full orchestra.
