  1. Struggle and Stillness

    4 January 2026

    St Thomas of Canterbury Church, Brentwood, Essex

    An afternoon of powerful orchestral music exploring conflict, reflection and emotional depth. The programme opened with the premiere of a new Passacaglia by Royal Academy of Music student Joe Jolliffe, its restless energy giving way to Tchaikovsky's final symphonic masterpiece, the Sixth - a journey across the full emotional spectrum.

  2. A Dance of Defiance

    20 August 2025

    St Thomas of Canterbury Church, Brentwood, Essex

    A leading orchestra of outstanding young musicians from across Essex and London - drawn from the UK's conservatoires, principal string players from the Essex Youth Orchestra and former National Youth Orchestra members. The evening paired Tchaikovsky's passionate Romeo and Juliet with Rachmaninoff's valedictory Symphonic Dances, and gave the world premiere of Titan March, a new work by young composer Shravan Sriram.

  3. Reflections and Reveries

    St Thomas of Canterbury Church, Brentwood, Essex

    A winter programme of impressionist colour and quiet intimacy. Debussy's Clair de Lune, in Caplet's luminous orchestration, sat alongside the tender warmth of Wagner's Siegfried Idyll and the elegant nostalgia of Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin.

  4. Debut Concert

    20 August 2024

    St Thomas of Canterbury Church, Brentwood, Essex

    Our debut concert, uniting top young musical talent from across Essex and London for a musical journey from tragedy to triumph. Brahms' Tragic Overture opened the evening with intense passion and drama, before Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony - all soaring melodies and profound emotional depth - brought the programme to its triumphant close.

Composers we've worked with

Shravan Sriram

Titan March

A young composer studying at the Junior Royal Academy of Music. We gave the world premiere of his Titan March in summer 2025.

Joe Jolliffe

Passacaglia

A composer studying at the Royal Academy of Music, whose Passacaglia we premiered in our January 2026 concert.

Sasha Bohn

A composer studying at the Royal Academy of Music on scholarship, whose theatrical, story-driven music spans musical theatre, chamber opera and film. He writes a new work for our Summer 2026 concert.

Sasha Bohn

Sasha Bohn is a composer and performer currently studying composition at the Royal Academy of Music on scholarship with Louise Drewett. His music draws inspiration from theatre and drama, often combining humour with vivid storytelling.

His recent projects include Rasputin: The Musical and a chamber opera inspired by Hamlet. He also scored the short film Precious Things, which recently premiered at BFI Southbank.

Alongside his work as a composer, Sasha is an active singer and trombonist. Most recently, he performed in National Youth Music Theatre's The Ragged Child. He has also been Principal Trombone of the University of London Symphony Orchestra for the past year.

Looking ahead, he hopes to build a career writing for theatre and opera, creating music that is engaging, characterful and brings stories vividly to life, while perhaps breaking a few rules of harmony along the way. He is currently working as a composer with the theatre company 7 Humans Act and looks forward to sharing more about the upcoming production soon.
